Robert Navarra, PsyD, LMFT, MAC

Dr. Navarra is a Master Certified Gottman Therapist, Trainer, Consultant, and Speaker. He has co-authored several book chapters on Gottman Method Therapy (GMT) with Drs. John and Julie Gottman, and most recently co-authored three articles with Dr. John Gottman for the Encyclopedia of Couple and Family Therapy on GMT. Integrating his research-based relational model of addiction treatment with the Sound Relationship Model and theory, Dr. Navarra designed two-day workshop, “Roadmap for the Journey: A Gottman Workshop for Couples in Addiction Recovery” and a one-day workshop for therapists and counselors, “Couples and Addiction Recovery”


Kristin Kuiper, LCSW

With over fifteen years of experience in clinical social work settings, Kristin now works exclusively with individuals and couples in her private practice serving the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

A graduate of Calvin College and Michigan State University, Kristin’s professional experiences include medical social work at Spectrum Health Hospitals in Grand Rapids, Michigan, followed by six years as an outpatient therapist at Wellspring Counseling and Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. During these years, she was a regular guest and blogger on WOOD TV8 Maranda “Where You Live”, with contributions focusing on family health and relational wellness.

Kristin continued refining her relationship expertise at the world-renown Gottman Institute in Seattle, WA. Following extensive training which included Drs. John & Julie Gottman, she became a Certified Gottman Therapist in 2013. She became a certified Gottman Workshop Presenter in 2015 and now offers clinical trainings for professionals and workshops for couples to the West Michigan community.

In addition to her therapy work, Kristin holds experience as an adjunct instructor of social work at Calvin College and has provided workshops and trainings to church and community groups focused on relationship health. Kristin is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (Clinical Concentration) in the State of Michigan.

Kristin’s passion for vibrant relationships begins at home. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 active children. She values connecting with friends, is an avid runner, and loves the outdoors.


Mirabai Wahbe, M.A.

Mirabai Wahbe, M.A. has been an associate with the Gottman Institute since 1997, Mirabai is a Master Certified Gotten Therapist, and a Certified Gottman Workshop Leader and Speaker. After staffing many The Art and Science of Love workshops with Drs. John and Julie Gottman, as well as presenting the workshop in California on many occasions, she and colleague Andy Greendorfer responded to requests to present a second level of The Art and Science of Love workshop. Mirabai and Andy then created the original “refresher” workshop, writing and preparing the workshop outline and manual with the Gottmans’ oversight and encouragement. Formerly called Deepening The Gottman Method, this workshop has been presented since 2004.

In addition, Mirabai co-authored a book chapter in The Handbook of Conflict Resolution, and is the author of a chapter in The Marriage Clinic. A Certified Mental Health Counselor since 1979, she is in private practice in Bellingham, WA. She works with individuals, couples and families to bring understanding, awareness, and skills and to foster their resilience to life’s stressors.


KEN VANDERLIP, PH.D. and
SUSIE VANDERLIP CSP, CPAE

This unique husband-wife team combine a wide variety of experience and expertise into engaging and practical De-Stress for Success® workshops on stress management, life balance, communication and well-being. Dr. Ken Vanderlip is a clinical psychologist with over 35 years in private practice specializing in EMDR, trauma, stress management and peak performance. He is an EMDR Institute facilitator and EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant, training therapists and psychologists in EMDR. In addition, he has fifty years’ experience as a Sensei (Instructor) and 6th degree black belt in Judo and meditation. Susie Vanderlip is an international professional speaker who has earned the highest designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) from the National Speakers Association (NSA) and is an inductee into the NSA Speakers Hall of Fame (CPAE). She has toured across the US and Canada for 25 years to schools, conferences, churches and communities with an original one-woman theatrical presentation, LEGACY OF HOPE®, to address adolescent mental health, alcohol and drug abuse, teen pregnancy, gangs, AIDs, trauma and stress. Susie also has over 40 years as an instructor of modern, jazz and Zumba dance, Yoga, and meditation. She is an Associate College Professor in Dance, Executive Director of a regional dance company and toured with the Bob Hope Hollywood USO. Both the Vanderlip’s are certified instructors and Ordained Ministers in Actualism meditation. Together they have authored De-Stress for Success® Workbook with Multi-Media. Susie Vanderlip is author of 52 Ways to Protect Your Teens, Guiding Teens to Good Choices and Success and The Story of Chester, the Monarch Caterpillar/Larva children’s photo storybook and movie on Monarch Butterfly life cycle to create an appreciation for nature and personal transformation.


Tammy Shelton, M.A., LMFT, LPCC

Tammy Shelton, M.A., LMFT, LPCC has been serving the community by providing Individual and couples counseling services. As well as, Anger Management and Relationship Skill Building Classes. Tammy is well versed in the many difficulties that face individuals and families and has extreme compassion and enthusiasm to help clients move through the therapy process.
